The Center for Gerontological Studies (CGS) was closed over summer semester 2006. This website provides information about Center activities that have been discontinued and/or will now be carried out by other units.
The Age Network
The newly formed Network for Biobehavioral and Social Research and Training in Aging (The Age Network) will administer the following:
- The Graduate Certificate in Gerontology. The Graduate Certificate is a key element of the Age Network’s NIA-funded UF Aging Training Program. The core course for the certificate, GEY 6646, will be offered once per year. Information for new or continuing students interested in the Certificate will be posted at the Age Network website.
- The annual Leighton Cluff Award for undergraduate and graduate research in aging. The contact person for the award is Dr. Robin West, Psychology.
Programs in transition
- The core course for the Minor, GEY 2010, will no longer be offered. Those undergraduate students who are currently completing, or wish to complete, the undergrad minor should contact Linda O'Donnell in Academic Advising, Phone: 392-1521
- The Geriatric Care Management Certificate is in transition but is scheduled to continue. Interested individuals should visit the Certificate website, http://geriatriccaremanagement.dce.ufl.edu/ce/
Discontinued programs
- The Professional Certificate in Gerontology and the Graduate Minor in Gerontology have been discontinued.
